Selva Kalú

Born in Madrid and based in Lisbon, Selva is a World Music/Singer-songwriter/Jazz artist. Her traveling spirit has allowed her to see various places around the globe and speak and write in different languages. Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter from a young age, she has algo composed and acted for film and theatre.

Selva performed on inner spaces in May 2025, in Wheelhouse, on our 14th edition.

Selva’s music

Selva has been part as main singer, composer and saxophonist in La Curva, Cafuné and Manojo (Spain) and has played in festivals and venues such as Iboga Summer Fest, Shikillo, LPS, El Portón del Jazz, Café La Palma, Pizza Express (London), Sala Copérnico, Centro cultural do Cartaxo, etc. Playing in London, Paris, Galway, Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Lisboa, Porto...

She's currently part of The Leon Stax Equation (Ireland), Bom Beijo (Lisbon) and FUSO (Argentina). She has two first EP under the name Inn Zen "タケノコ" (2022) and "Nothing is stable" (2024) and a home-made album "Origins" (2019).

She also has collaborated several times with different artists, making her a very wide-stylish and chamaleonic artist. Her latest releases are "Medley Bolero's" and "some jazz tunes", where we can hear the sensitive and unique approach of her voice with a more modern instrumentation.
